Teeth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a straightforward and non-invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the application of carbamide peroxide on discoloured teeth. The procedure is done in the dental chair or the comfort of your home, with the supervision of your dentist.
Though there are many over-the-counter tooth-whitening options available, dentist-supervised dental whitening is still the safest and most effective way to whiten stained and discoloured teeth.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are custom-designed, thin shells made of tooth-like material. When they are bonded to the tooth’s surface, the veneers can cover worn enamel, tough tooth edges, uneven tooth alignment including spacing, crowding and chips or cracks.
Modern porcelain veneers can imitate the light handling features of natural tooth enamel, which makes them look very natural. Porcelain veneers are very thin (0.5 mm). Despite this, they are very durable and are also resistant to staining.
Composite Bonding
Dental bonding is a procedure that repairs tooth fissures or cracks and eliminates or diminishes the gaps between your teeth. A small amount of tooth enamel is removed, and then a tooth-coloured composite resin is bonded to the tooth surface. Your dentist will mould the resin into shape and set it hard using a special white light.
Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a hollow cap that sits over a prepared tooth and is cemented into place. Dental crowns are made of porcelain material. By covering an entire tooth, the crown restores its form and function while improving its overall aesthetics.
The dental crown procedure usually requires just two appointments. The first visit prepares the tooth for crown installation. During the second visit, your dentist will try the crown for fit, shape and colour. Once everything is perfect, the crown is cemented into place.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that cover the space of a missing tooth. The dental crowns are placed on the two teeth on either side to serve as anchors holding the porcelain teeth securely in place.
There are different types of dental bridges with the most common being traditional, fixed and cantilever bridges. Your dentist will recommend the type that best suits you.
Tooth reshaping
This procedure involves removal of some parts of the tooth enamel to improve the appearance of the tooth. Tooth reshaping is recommended for various reasons such as correcting a small chip or changing the length, shape and position of your teeth. Because the removed enamel is irreplaceable, it’s only done in small amounts since it may otherwise expose the dentine.
